NORTHWOOD—Marlee Horan , a senior at Coe-Brown Northwood Academy, was recently presented with the CBNA’s highest agricultural honor, the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award, sponsored by the Monsanto Company.
Horan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Richardson of Strafford, received the award for excellence in academics, leadership and agricultural work experience. Horan’s significant accomplishments have included raising and showing sheep, working in her parent’s fiber shop as well as serving as her chapter’s president this year, under the supervision of Sarah Ward, agricultural education instructor at Coe-Brown.
For the past 61 years, the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award has been received by more than 160,000 high school seniors from across the country. The award has become a symbol for excellence in agricultural education. As the 2008 winner of this award, Horan’s name will be recorded on a permanent plaque displayed at Coe-Brown.
